Mad Respect
"Hi, you're Nathan Shurr right?' How does one respond to a statement like this. My professor had never met me before, but recognized my picture from my profile. Everytime he addressed me during that first class it was with my first name. The guy knew everyones name, and even more bizzare than that...he used them. It was something that just jumped out at me. I wish that I shared this skill with him. The truth is that I am the worst with names. I am still trying to learn my roomates name (Jim...I mean Jon). This is going to sound nerdy, but Dr. Boyer made me want to pay attention in class just by knowing my name. I guess I just want recognition...I was a somebody to this guy. I guess I am more needie than I thought. Well this post just got a whole lot more serious than I intended. My apologies to the 3 people who read this.Paper Update: Had to present my paper topic and thesis to class. Couldn't have gone better. Still need to dive into more research but am still ahead of most of the students....not where I want to be.
Today I had to wear 2 pairs of socks as my little feet were just frozen. I also wore my tree jeans, fourm hoodie, and a toque (ah ya).
