Quotable

Nothing beats a good quote. Some people seem to be more quotable than others. I feel that I am one of these special people...not to brag or anything. Here are some recent memorible ones from me.

"Man I love the Leafs."
Nathan Shurr referring to his love of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"This coffee is good!"
Nathan Shurr speaking of coffee he drank at Tiffany Kruids house over Christmas.

"Quiet, this is the best part of the song."
Nathan Shurr telling people to be quiet because he wanted to hear his favourite part of the Jimmy Eat World song "Table for Glasses"

"I am so thirsty right now, but I am not thirsty for water, I am thirsty for food."
Nathan Shurr speaking on how hungry he was, but making the mistake of using the word thirsty...but cleverly changing the meaning of thirsty to mean hungry so that nobody knew that he messed up. It worked.

Buzzing @ Starbucks

Being bored in a coffee shop produces poetry...is that what you call it?

Grande Carmel Macchiato

Sip after sip
Contemplation in each breath
Sip after sip
In his mind a storm is ahead
Sip after sip
The thoughts fade away
Sip after sip
Enjoyment in his face
You’ve reached that spot
That place you should be
It took sip after sip
The great remedy

Drive My SUV to Buy a $5 Coffee

Crossed legs
Facing glass
Mouths breathing fog
Mittens on hands
I’m safe and warm
Money is nice

See you in the Future!!!!!

I do not consider myself to be a negative person by nature, however, I do feel as though I can be when it comes to certain subjects. One thing that is frustrating me lately is the idea of the flying car. Will this ever happen? Can it ever happen? We do have the technology and it is not beyond ones capacity to think of such an idea. People have had the ideas of flying cars for years, to see this one needs to look no further than "The Jetsons" or "Back to the Future". With this not being a new idea, and traffic being so bad on earth why have we not seen more money put into research and innovation. It frustrates me to not at least see one company looking into this. Sure there would be problems at first, but when has there not been with something new. When the Wright brothers first invented the airplane they crashed, but did that stop air travel from being the safest form of transportation. No! The first problem would obviously be training for people, but that would not take long as the excitement to learn would drive people to excel. Another problem would be that of air traffic control. But this again could be turned into a positve by opening up a new world of employment. It would be a billion dollar project but would in the end give more space to be used here on earth. I have gone deeper than I wanted to here but really I am just pissed that this dream of the flying car has not taken off yet. I am frustrated that the idea has been there for years...yet nothing has been done. The need is there...yet no progress has been made.
Please make a flying car to fullfull this need for me.

I am a loser...I know.

Utopia

First and foremost, Unicorns are not manly....I know this to be true. It seems to me that Unicorns are making a comeback. Not physically, but I mean they are coming up frequently lately in conversation. I don't know why this is, but everytime it does it gives me a little chuckle. I mean, they are a beautiful animal, graceful, and pure, but honestly, when one stops to think about the impact that it would have had on the world had they not disappeard it is mind-boggling.

1) Little rich girls would own a unicorn instead of a pony....making they the envy of even more girls who already hate them.
2) U2 would probably have written the song "Whose Gonna Ride Your Wild Unicorns?"
3) Many injuries in rodeos due to the giant horn sticking out of the Unicorns head.
4) Many of the amazing movies that feature Unicorns would not be nearly as cool or fantisy like with a normal animal in it (ex. The Last Unicorn)
5) Websites such as Geoff's Unicorn Page 2 would not be nearly as big and frequently viewed.

OK, well maybe the world wouldnt be that differnet...but the dorkiness would sure go done a notch if fantisy people did not have their favourite animal to worship. I love you Unicorns...I love you.

Left Hook to the Jaw From Tonya Harding

I remember sitting by the radio for hours...just waiting...listening. There was an excitement that would run through my body as I sat there, like the feeling of opening up a new email from a girlfriend. The anticipation of waiting to hear that one song that you can't get out of your head and hitting the record/play button simultaneously when it comes on so you can capture it and play it over and over again. The days of recording onto a tape from off the radio in order to pirate a song are long gone. It was a time when you truly appreciated a good hit song because you didn't get to hear it as often, and everytime you did it was as though it were a little gift of God sent through the airwaves specifically for you. After the long wait, or just being in the right place at the right time and you did manage to record the song it was a feeling of triumph. It was like a long boxing match against Tonya Harding that you had just come out of victorious. I freaking love it and yearn for it to come back.

Today it is much different. If I like a song, I download it. Right away. I mean in minutes. I wear the song out in about a day on repeat. Then I move onto the next, like a gigolo making a quick buck. It's downright depressing. All the excitement, the victories over Tonya, and cassettes are gone to the wind like an ash off freshly smoked stoggie. I long for the old days. I want them back.
