Lions and Tigers and Bears....Oh My!

Often times when planting trees you are given a piece of land so big that you could plant it for 2 or even 3 days before you finish it. It is in these instances that you get to leave your planting gear at that piece of land over night instead of having to carry it all the way back to camp...it is a real luxury. The other night one of my fellow planters did this. When he got to his land the next morning he found that his planting bags were gone, along with his winter jacket only to be found ripped to shreads in the middle of his land. It turns out that a bear just wanted to play with them for a while. Amazingly this planter ended up taping old boxes to his waist and planting a $350 day. Good for him. I would have sat and cried. It also makes me more scared of bears.
